Victoria Pride Society Privacy Policy


The Victoria Pride Society’s Privacy Policy covers the collection, use, maintenance, and disclosure of personal and business information that may be collected by the Victoria Pride Society (“VPS”) when you visit our site, complete forms (online or by mail), or otherwise provide information the VPS.


Why we collect information:


The VPS collects information to identify its members, online newsletter subscribers, parade participants, vendor participants, volunteers, and event attendees. Information is kept until such time as Pride is directed by the individual or business to be removed from the list as directed below.


What information do we collect, and how do we use it?


We collect contact information (including but not limited to phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses) to contact you about upcoming events, and clarify any questions we may have if you have submitted a volunteer, vendor, or parade application.

We collect your name and birthday to address you by name in personalized communications, and to ensure that minimum age requirements are met at certain events.


When will we disclose your information:


The VPS does its best to protect your information. Information will only be shared between the Board of Directors of the VPS, and any co-ordinator of specific events where you have agreed to provide a service. Should you be a sponsor of the VPS, you agree that we will publicly disclose your business name, and link to your business website (if applicable) at any time.

The VPS may also disclose your information as required by court order, or other such legal document.


How your information is protected:


The VPS takes physical, administrative, and technical measures to ensure your information is protected. We do not sell, or disclose your information to any party unless as required by law.


Integrity, maintenance, and removal of your information:


It is up to the person or entity who submitted the information to the VPS to keep that information up to date. Should you wish to make changes to the information you provided, or have your information removed, you may send a request by email to: privacy@victoriapridesociety.org

To remove your e-mail from our online newsletter, please visit our website, and use the unsubscribe function as necessary.
